Day 1: Arrival in Venice airport and transfer to Slovenia 2 h 22 min (190 km)

You will meet your tour guide at the airport before transfer to Slovenian coast.

Dinner and accommodation.

 

Day 2: Koper – Sečovlje – Piran 80km

After breakfast, we will begin the day to discover Slovenian Istria.

First, we will go to Koper. It’s a Mediterranean city with colorful history and the biggest harbor in Slovenia.

After sightseeing of the city, we will visit the Port of Koper. It is important Port for Slovenia in economic way.

At noon, lunch in a local restaurant “Gostilna”

In afternoon, a short drive around the Slovenia coast to visit Piran and salt pans.

The Piran salt pans, established in 804, encompassed the salt pans in the area of today’s marina (Lucija, Portorož), the smaller Strunjan salt pans, and the larger Sečovlje salt pans. The areas of all the preserved salt pans are now landscape parks. At Sečovlje Salt Pans, you can learn about the traditional salt production with guided tour and a visit to the Museum of Salt-Making.

Late afternoon we will spend time in Piran. It is the most beautiful town on the Slovenian coast.

Day 3: Full day excursion to Croatia Istria: Poreč – Rovinj – Pula 3 h 47 min (245 km)

After breakfast, we go to the neighboring country: Croatia.

We will explore the history and influence of Venice. We will visit the Basilica, which is on the UNESCO list, Sightseeing the Pearl of the Adriatic town Rovinj learn about the gold of Istria olive oil and vineyards in Agrolaguna where we will have lunch.

In afternoon, drive to Pula. In town Pula you will find out about the Romans and their empire and visit the amphitheater. The Arena is the only remaining Roman Amphitheatre to have four side towers and with all three Roman architectural orders entirely preserved. From Croatia Istria we return back to Sloveian Istria.

Day 4: Portorož – Postojna – Lipica – Ljubljana – Portorož 3 h 22 min (254 km)

This morning we will drive to Krast region – known by underground. You will enter in the world of Postojna Cave. It is a 24,340 m long karst cave system and the second-longest cave system in the country as well as one of its top tourism sites. The caves were created by the Pivka River. From the underground we go to visit stud Farm Lipica. A visit to the stud farm is a special experience. Get to know the history of the stud farm all the way from its foundation until today. Find out everything you wanted to know about Lipica and the Lipizzan horse. Later in the afternoon arrival at the capital city Ljubljana. Visit with a local Tour guide.

Day 5: Piran – Venice 2 hrs 7 mins (190 km)

After breakfast, we will leave Slovenia for a transfer to Venice airport for the return home

A visit to Venice is possible but will depend on the time of the return flight to France.
